With a complete smartphone app redesign, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam is now even more accessible to Chinese visitors.

In addition to providing Chinese-language multimedia tours, the app redesign allows users to browse and save 340,000+ artworks in Rijksstudio. Available on the App Store and Google Play, the app allows museum-goers to create a tailored exhibition itinerary. With the simple press of a button, the institution’s interactive floor plan and navigation system guides guests to handpicked masterpieces as well as to gift shops and cafés.

To sweeten the deal, shoppers get a 10% discount at the Rijksmuseum Shop when they present the app at checkout.

Since the early 2010s, the Rijksmuseum has continually strengthened its online presence and availability to visitors. The Amsterdam institution launched its app to coincide with the €375 million renovation of the museum in 2013 and has been delivering artwork to the fingertips of visitors ever since.
