The Las Vegas Conventions & Visitors Authority (LVCVA) has significantly expanded its China engagement through launching Chinese video and social media accounts. Firstly, LVCVA is striving to have a strong presence on WeChat and Weibo channels. On the video side, the marketing organisation is creating content for Youku, Miaopai, iQIYI, and Tencent video.

LVCVA’s proactive China push dates back over a decade. The official destination marketing organisation of Southern Nevada has worked in tandem with its Shanghai office to drive Chinese outbound tourism to Las Vegas. LVCVA has conducted sales missions, hosted special branded events and taken part in media familiarisation trips. In early 2019, the government agency launched on Mafengwo, a Chinese travel website for sharing experiences, and Trip Advisor.

Bottom line: LVCVA is “all in” when it comes to attracting the Chinese market. For more information, go to lvcla.com or visitlasvegas.com.
