With 1.61 million annual visitors, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is expanding the services it offers Chinese visitors.

Australian museums are becoming increasingly China-friendly and the leading public art museum is no exception. The Sydney institution provides information to visitors in Chinese (traditional and simplified) including maps and artwork highlights. Furthermore, it supports such efforts with audio in Mandarin. These services are available to visitors on the museum’s free smartphone app (accessible on Apple and Android platforms).

In addition, the Art Gallery of New South Wales regularly offers guided tours of the museum’s permanent collection and key exhibitions in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Located inside the parklands overlooking Sydney Harbor, the gallery boasts an extensive collection of Australian art, including one of the largest expositions of Aboriginal art in the country. It also holds a rich collection European and Asian art pieces.
